Lindarae Jewelry is a spin-off of Creative FX Jewelry. Creative FX began life in 1980 when Chip & Linda got married, and he took her away from all of “that” in Southern California to come to the wilds of New Mexico. Chip’s background in Architecture (B.S. UNM) segued into jewelry design, and the first items created and sold were sterling silver “Moonscape” designs with stone and exotic wood inlay, exotic wood belt buckles set in bronze, exotic wood boxes with bronze lids and Concho belts out of zinc-cadmium. In the mid 1980’s, Creative FX began producing earrings, pins, necklaces and bracelets made out of colorful Niobium.

Creative FX became quite well known throughout the country for it’s innovative & whimsical designs in Niobium - at one point selling to over 3,000 jewelry and gift shops. Alas the effort to maintain all of the accounts, participate in over 50 retail and wholesales show, baby-sit 20+ employees and a brand new baby daughter got to be a little too much, and Chip & Linda essentially put Creative FX into hibernation, where it remains today. 

When things settled down a bit, Chip & Linda began designing and producing jewelry again in the late 1990’s and started selling at local and regional art and craft shows. In order to distinguish this new direction, a new jewelry company was created - LindaRae Jewelry (named after Linda Rae herself!). These days, Chip explains, designing and producing innovative contemporary jewelry is the only thing that keeps him “sane” (something Linda disputes) after sitting in front of a computer all day, doing work for Homeland Security at Sandia Nat’l Labs. Linda fits in jewelry design and creation (even resurrecting many of her most successful designs in Niobium) in between work as a Real Estate agent and appraiser.
